How I became a photographer

My first serious camera was a Zenith 35mm SLR camera. I learnt the basics of exposure, light and composition with this camera. I then bought a couple of nature books by Heather Angel which inspired me to look at the natural world in a different way. I had always loved animals, insects and plants and so it was with these books and my love for the outdoors that inspired me to take these images.

I use a selection of cameras, the black and white images are taken with film stock as I love the natural look I can get with this type of media. 

I travel all over the UK in search of good images. The images you see in the galleries have been chosen from thousands that I take. Many images are discarded as I only want the best of my work to be viewed.
